THE NEW GM WONT MAKE IT UNLESS.....

THERE IS DRAMATIC GROWTH IN THE ELECTRIC CAR MARKET:
Electric cars could take off and become something more than a fad. Oil prices are going up and could reach the $100 level which will increase demand for energy efficent vechicles. The Volt Gm's entry in the electric car market isnt as good a car as some of the other cars in the field because of poor batteries but could still be profitable if there is strong demand for electric cars. And as oil prices go up so could demand for electric cars. Gm needs a win here badly because there is nothing in there present car line up thats going to save the company. Gm's present crop of cars is piss poor.
Fords has almost completely taken the commercial truck market away from them. The quality of Gm trucks isnt good enough for use by bussinesses who demand a truck thats dependable and can go to work every day. Gm has become like Chrysler making trucks for the passenger non-commercial user. And that has to have hurt Gm which needs that market to be profitable.
THE NEW GM'S FUTURE ISNT A BRIGHT ONE: Gm must bring in new management to run the company. As the Detroit Times has been writing for a long time the people currently running Gm dont have the knowledge or talent to make the company a success. Phil Mertaugh should be the person running the company.
Gm associating with Mike Illich will hurt the companies image. Illich is a front for the Mafia. Gm should quickley wash their hands of him. Associating with Illitch is just another stupid decession made by the company.
