WHY BOMBING LIBYA MAY NOT WORK

THE AMERICAN MILITARY MACHINE IS WEAK:
The Unites States is so over extended that it would be difficult to follow up the bombing of Libya with troops. And without soldigers on the ground the bombing campaign wont mean much in the weeks to come.
The French and the Brits are hosiers. They talk a good game but when it comes time to put up and make a committment they are no where to be found.
The U.S. should have a made deal with Ghadifi that if eased up and gave Libyians more freedom and gave the U.S. no opposition in reshaping the middle east that he could stay in power.
Now Omar will proably stay in power and instead of being an asset to the U.S he may turn out to be a thorn to American power in the middle east.

DETROITS DEMIZE WAS PLANNED YEARS AGO

DETROIT WAS WORTH MORE DEAD THAN ALIVE:
Almost a trillion dollars was poured into Detroit by the government over the last 40 or 50 years to help rebuild the city. The money instead went to tearing down and destroying the city. The automobile companies,the real estate developers and the mafia have profited heavily from the destruction of Detroit.
Mafia owned construction and demolishion companies enriched themselves handsomely by tearing down the city. Real Estate developers then developed the vacant land using government money without risking any of their own money. And the automobile companies like Gm who never liked the city because its layout favored mass transit got their wish of seeing the city destroyed.
The biggest property owner in Detroit is the city government. The properties the city controls sit empty and abondoned until they become an eyesore and ruin the entire neighborhood. And then the city comes in and tears everything down.
Most cities renovate and rebuild their empty properties instead of waiting until its past the point of no return to do something to save them.
So much of Detroit destruction was caused by a city government conrolled by the mafia and real estate developers who gained financially from Detroit being destroyed
So what come next after everything has been torn down in Detroit? The real estate developers will buy the land for next to nothing and then put something on land using government money. Mike Illitch has become a rich man doing just that.

WHAT HAPPENED IN JAPAN IS A GREAT TRAGEDY BUT IT COULD BENEFIT THE U.S. IN THE LONG RUN

JAPAN'S DISASTER COULD BE AMERICAS GOLDEN OPPORTINITY:
Automobile manufactures are now experiencing parts shortages because Japan cant ship and proably wont be able to ship parts for a long time.
Japan may no longer be viewed as a reliable source of parts since the earthquake and the nuclear power tragedy destroyed or ruined Japans infastructure.
The United States could once again be viewed as the best place to manufacture because of the stable,reliable setting that is free of earthquakes and poor nuclear plant supervision.
After 3 mile island the United States didnt go hog wild building nuclear power plants which makes its energy sources more reliable.
THE UNITED STATES COULD ONCE AGAIN BE THE KING OF MANUFACTURING

THE U.S SHOULD BE INFLUENCING THE CHANGE IN THE MIDDLE EAST INSTEAD OF REACTING TO IT

IF ROBERT GATES HAD BEEN ONE OF LINCOLN'S GENERALS DURING THE CIVIL WAR HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED QUICKLEY.
However we are in a time when politics is more important than results. There is a golden opportunity to reconfigure the middle east in a way that favors the U.S. What is Robert Gates doing about that? He is sitting on his hands waiting for the wind to blow in the right direction. Lincoln would have fired Gates long ago because soldigers know the breaks come to those that make them. While Gates sits and waits for things to go his way the wind is starting to blow in the wrong direction.

A strong man of character never switches over to his wifes relegion. It is always the other way around with the wife converting to her husbands relegion.
