GERRY BROWN:SLY OLD FOX STALKING HIS PREY OR AN OLD MAN TO FEEBLE TO HUNT

THE LOS ANGELES TIMES' RECENT ARTICLE ABOUT THE GOVERNORS RACE IN CALIFORNIA SHOWS BROWN AS A SHREWD CANDIDATE WAITING FOR THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE TO ATTACK HIS OPPOENT:
However Browns laid back approach to the campaign could also mean that Brown dosent have the stamina for a hard race and campaign.
If the polls show the Governors race an even match that its really a minus for Brown and not a plus as the Los Angeles Times woud have the public believe.
Its a negative because Brown was governor for 2 terms and has much better name recognition that Whitman. And Whitman has also been hurt because she is following Gov.Arnie as the Republican candidate who did a horrible job as govenor.
The fact that she is even in the race when the economy is so weak in California thanks in large part to Gov.Arnies bad performance shows she is the stronger candidate over Brown who has years of experience in poltics.
Because the race is a dead heat so far the debates will be very important and could decide the election. If there is a clear winner in the debates then that person will be the next governor of California.

IT IS A BAD MISTAKE TO TAKE GM PUBLIC NOW

GM ISNT READY TO GO PUBLIC:
Gm still needs the support and guidance only the government can give it. Its recent profit although good news was proably an operating profit and not a real one like Fords earned. A lot of Gm's car sales came from dumping cars into the rental car market where it barely breaks even. That isnt a good or healthy sign.
Gm is certainly making better looking cars which is a big plus but it ranks almost dead last in customer satisfaction.
Ed Whitacre certainly a very competent excutive was wise to step down because he proably realized he just didnt have the background needed to lead Gm.
Only someone who grew up in the automobile industry can lead a company like Gm now. The Detroit Times has endorsed the excutive most responsible for Gms success in China Phil Mertaugh. Mertaugh has the skills and background for the job.
When Gms quality troubles have been solved and its profits come not from cutting operating expenses but from blockbuster sales then it will be ready to go public.
And to do that it needs a first rate leader with a deep automobile background like a young Lee Iaccoa

WHAT IS BELL CALIFORNIA REALLY A SYMPTOM OF AND WHAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN

THE CAUSE OF BELL CALIFORNIAS PROBLEMS IS:
The average person has more important things to think about then what is happening in poltics or city government. Are the Lakas or the Clipas going to win? And are the Dodgas going to have a good season? Those are the things that troubled the average voter.
The city of Los Angeles went from being a robust financially healthy city to a place with a government on the verge of bankruptcy. And the average person dosent even really care. What caused the dire situation in Bell other cities like Los Angeles is that there is very little citizen interest or participation in local government.
What is really killing this country is the direct ballot. Public officer holders should be picked indirectly by civic groups who are more familiar with the candidates rather than the average potlicker who usually votes like he was playing darts rather than basing his vote on knowledge of the issures or candidates.
If this change in selecting public officals isnt make soon than this country will have a toltarian government or dictatorship. And that is something nobody wants to see happen.

WHO IS RON TUTOR

RON TUTOR WAS A MAJOR CAUSE OF THE FINANCIAL COLLAPSE OF LOS ANGELES :
Tutor an influential power broker in Los Angeles owns the construction company that built the new Police headquarters. The building which really wasnt needed was supposed to cost 200 million to build. Tutor's company took that initial $200 estimate and turned it into a $800 million bill for the city.
The old headquarters built in the fifties was still functional even though it wasnt a modern building. Its kind of like an old suit that works until you can afford a new one. And Los Angeles didnt have the money to build a new Police headquarters.
Tutor took the mega millions that he made building the Police headquarters and bought the Miramax film library from Walt Disney for $360 million. The money for Los Angeles city services basically went into Ron Tutor's Miramax purchase.
That is the real reason Los Angeles resident David Meyers is losing the public libraries he spends so much time in. To save Los Angeles libraries from closing Meyers spent days studying how to get more money out of parking tickets.
He should have studied Ron Tutor and how he cheated the city to get the money to buy the Miramex film library. Because the that is where the Library money went along with a good chunk of other city services.
THERE SHOULD BE A MAJOR RALLY IN THE CANADIAN DOLLAR OVER THE NEXT MONTH
